Charities we support at Holy Family
We have a very active Cafod group here at Holy Family School. We try to meet every week and talk about how we can promote the work of Cafod and raise funds.
This group also explore Catholic Social Teaching, especially Pope Francis' message in both Fratelli Tutti and Ladauto Si papers. Pope Francis wants us to be a good neighbour and for us to care for our common home.
In October we held a Brighten up for Harvest day when all the children and staff wore bright clothes and gave a donation. We had a very enjoyable day and managed to raise £146.21!
This Lent, we have undertaken the Big Lent Walk 2024 as well as supporting CAFOD through a range of different activities, eg. toast sale in Reception and Year Five have sold crosses made by their 3D printer. Well done everyone and we are grateful to parents for their support.
Mission Together is the Pope's official children's charity for overseas mission. Previously known as Holy Childhood, Mission Together has been working in Catholic schools and parishes worldwide since 1843, encouraging children to pray, fundraise and become missionaries themselves - children helping children.
Christmas Mission Christmas Tree
This year the whole school enjoyed a stunning a virtual CAFOD advent service. We particarly enjoyed this service as we were able to worship with our own pupils as well as other pupils from all the other Catholic schools in our cluster.
