Hello, my name is Bernard Macklin and I am the Chair of Governors here at Holy Family Catholic Primary School. The main roles of the Governing body are:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of its staff
  • Overseeing the financial management of the school and ensuring its budget is spent correctly.  

School governors are all volunteers and give their time freely, we will normally meet twice a term, once at a committee meeting and once at a full governors meeting, although governors can in certain cases be a member of more than one committee.
